Obserc Beta: System Requirements

For the Obserc beta app to function correctly and provide accurate analysis, your device must meet the following minimum requirements. Meeting these specifications ensures that core features can run effectively.

Android Requirements

• Operating System: Android 8.0 (Oreo) or newer.
• Required Services: Google Play Services must be installed and up-to-date. This is essential for speech recognition, location services, and push notifications.
• Hardware (Microphone): A functional built-in microphone capable of clearly capturing voice from a typical conversational distance (approx. 1-3 feet / 0.3-1 meter).
• Hardware (Camera for v0.02+): A functional front or rear-facing camera is required for features involving video analysis.
• Required Permissions: You will need to grant permission to access the Microphone, Camera (for video features), and allow Background Activity for continuous monitoring.

iOS Requirements

• Operating System: iOS 13.0 or newer.
• Hardware (Microphone): A functional built-in microphone capable of clearly capturing voice from a typical conversational distance (approx. 1-3 feet / 0.3-1 meter).
• Hardware (Camera for v0.02+): A functional front or rear-facing camera is required for features involving video analysis.
• Required Permissions: You will need to grant permission to access the Microphone, Camera (for video features), and enable Background App Refresh and Location Services for continuous monitoring.

General Recommendations for All Devices

• Internet Connection: A stable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection (4G/LTE/5G) is necessary for user authentication, sending Circle alerts, and real-time speech-to-text processing.
• Device Performance: While Obserc is designed to be efficient, devices with at least 4GB of RAM and a modern multi-core processor will provide the smoothest experience, especially when using processor-intensive features like video analysis.
